Professor Jane den Hollander AO is widely recognized as a trailblazer in transnational education, having contributed to the reshaping of how Australian universities engage with global markets. During her tenure as Vice-Chancellor of Deakin University, Professor den Hollander was instrumental in strengthening Deakin’s presence in India. She oversaw the expansion of the Deakin India Research Initiative (DIRI), which bridged the gap between international research and local industrial application. She pioneered the integration of digital delivery with physical international campuses. By investing heavily in premium online learning platforms, she ensured that students in TNE programs received an equivalent experience to those on-shore in Australia. Professor Den Hollander navigated complex regulatory environments to establish deep-tier partnerships in China, Malaysia, and Indonesia.
