Professor Don A. Klinger is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Education (DVCE) at Murdoch University, Western Australia. Previously Professor Klinger was at the University of Waikato, New Zealand (Pro Vice-Chancellor: Division of Education) and Queen’s University, Kingston (Professor and Associate Dean). His research explores measurement theory and the use of assessments to support teaching, learning and policy across education contexts. Amongst his accomplishments, Professor Klinger co-chaired the writing of the Classroom Assessment Standards and he served as the president for the Canadian Society for the Study of Education. As the DVCE, he leads a team at Murdoch to implement AI and other digital technologies across university operations, research, teaching, learning, and assessment. The team’s goal is to ensure the responsible adoption and use of these technologies to enhance the work of staff and enrich students’ learning while also preparing students for a future in which these technologies will be critical resources.
