Betty Leask EdD - Professor Emerita in the School of Education, La Trobe University Australia is Chair of the Council on Australia Latin America Relations (COALAR) and Editor Emerita of the Journal of Studies in International Education, the highest ranked journal in the field. As a researcher and internationally recognised thought leader in the internationalisation of higher education she is best known for her research informed practice models on internationalisation of the curriculum, which build on work undertaken as part of an ALTC Teaching Fellowship in 2010. Her work has been used globally to inform national and institutional research, policy and practice in the internationalisation of education, teaching and learning for all students. She served as PVC Teaching and Learning and Vice Chancellor Academic at La Trobe University Melbourne before undertaking the role of Visiting Professor from 2018-2020 in the Boston College Centre for International Higher Education (CIHE) where she is now a research fellow and member of the Advisory Board. She also holds honorary positions at the Centre of Internationalization of Education Brazil-Australia in the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil and the Centre for Higher Education Internationalisation (CHEI) Università Cattolica del Sacre Cuore Milan. Her book, Internationalising the Curriculum published by Routledge in 2015 has been the best-seller in the series for the past 8 years. Betty also holds six awards for excellence in research and teaching in international education from professional associations in Australia, the US and Europe.
