Weihong Liang is President of the International Students Representative Council of Australia, the national peak body for international students. He also serves as a Postgraduate Senate Fellow at the University of Sydney and previously served as President of the Sydney University Postgraduate Representative Association from 2022 to 2024. With over a decade of experience in student advocacy and higher-education governance, he has contributed to policy and governance reform at institutional, state, and national levels, with a focus on strengthening representation structures and advancing equity for international and postgraduate students. Weihong is a Sociology PhD candidate specialising in state–society relations and has prior professional experience in university human resources.
